HKBU TIIS Ranked No. 1 in Translation and Interpretation Capacity in Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan for the 2nd consecutive year

We are delighted to announce that HKBU TIIS has been ranked as the No. 1 institution on the list of Chinese Universities for Translation and Interpretation Capacity in Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan for the second consecutive year (2023)! 

This outstanding recognition comes as a result of the 4th Symposium on National Translation Capacity: Theory and Practice, organized by The Research Centre for Country-specific Translation and Interpretation Capacity (RECTIC) at Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU). During this symposium, the 2023 Global Index of National Translation and Interpretation Capacity & the 2023 Ranking List of Chinese Universities for Translation and Interpretation Capacity were released.

We are immensely proud to have achieved the top position among the leading institutions in translation and interpretation across Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan for two years in a row.

This exceptional accomplishment reflects the unwavering dedication, hard work, and expertise of our distinguished faculty and talented students. It underscores our commitment to providing outstanding translation and interpretation programs.

ASLE’s Scholar of the Month for August 2023

Our Assistant Professor, Dr Emily Zong, has been selected as Scholar of the Month for August 2023 by ASLE (The Association for Literature and Environment). It recognizes Dr Zong’s research excellence in front of the international community.

World’s Top 2% Scientists 全球前 2% 頂尖科學家排名

Prof. Chow Yiu Fai was listed among the world’s top 2% of the most-cited scientists!

The ranking is based on the “Updated science-wide author databases of standardized citation indicators”, compiled and announced annually by a group of researchers at Stanford University, USA.  Scientists are classified into 22 scientific fields and 176 sub-fields. The rankings are calculated based on standardized information of citations, h-index, co-authorship-adjusted hm-index, citations to papers in different authorship positions, and a composite indicator.
